HOLLYWOOD actor Michael Sheen has helped to celebrate the achievements of inspirational people at South Wales Evening Post Pride Awards on Friday night with his family, mingled with nominees on the special evening at the Brangwyn Hall.
It was a star-studded occasion as former football legend and cancer survivor John Hartson, of Bonymaen, scooped the Ambassador award on the night, presented by Paul Morgan, Managing Director of Caboodle Media. The ex-Arsenal, Celtic and Wales striker, who was diagnosed with testicular cancer in the summer of 2009, was recognised for his work in raising awareness of the disease through the John Hartson Foundation. He thanked everyone for their prayers and their support through his battle with the disease.
But more than anything, it was a celebration of the unsung work of everyday people living in the area.
