Orchestrating The Links Between Arts and Business

Caboodle Media, has been providing web and print design services to Sinfonia Cymru for the last five years. Now the pro-active media agency is taking this support a step further by offering the renowned Welsh chamber orchestra free office space to continue its work in encouraging and supporting talented, young musicians.

Synfonia Cymru was founded in 1996 and subsequently attracted National Lottery funding through the Arts Council of Wales and Welsh Assembly Government. The orchestra is also a member of Arts and Business Cymru – a nationwide venture that links arts and business through a series of initiatives. Companies can be involved at the sharp end of the arts by joining the board of a cultural organisation for example, making a valuable contribution through their business skills, energy and expertise.

There are many local businesses who have taken the opportunity to influence the cultural life of their community by connecting with exciting creative people, thereby enhancing their leadership and governance experience. The Arts and Business scheme can also provide specialist training and support together with networking and business expansion opportunities..

In addition to gifting office space to Sinfonia Cymru, Caboodle Media has also become a member of the Arts and Business scheme, recognising the value of linking the two sectors.

Says Sophie Lewis, General Manager of Sinfonia Cymru, “Caboodle Media is an ideal partner for our organisation as we are both made up of young, forward thinking teams. They understand the dynamics of Sinfonia Cymru and this is wholly reflected in their ongoing creative work and the marketing and web support that they deliver to us day-on-day.

“I have been working from home and helping to develop the business from my kitchen table for the last few years. We were thrilled when Caboodle told me that we could have free office space in their Queen Street premises, as it is not often in this day and age for an independent business to show so much sincere altruism.

“I am really looking forward to working further with Neil Locke and the rest of the team and I know they, in turn, will benefit enormously from their association with the Arts and Business venture.”
